Supervisor´s Message

Hello! and welcome to the home page of University Relations & Community Outreach (URCO) at KFUPM, where we aspire to engage you in our successes and be part of yours.

Since its establishment in 1963, serving the society has been in the core business of KFUPM by stating social engagement as its third mission. KFUPM's strategic plan emphasizes on working in collaboration with partners to engage the community by utilizing University resources. For developing mutually beneficial relations, KFUPM encourages its faculty, staff, students and alumni to participate in community services by offering their knowledge and experience in respective fields and acquire valuable experience and support through their interaction with the community.

Today, we at KFUPM are proud to share an impressive record of social engagement achievements and initiatives. These range from an exceptional voluntary-work experience that is held by 100% of our undergraduate students, to publicly-available facilities (such as SciTech and FabLab Dhahran) that receive more than 5000 visitors annually. Our ever-growing portfolio includes numerous contributions in terms of knowledge sharing, Edutainment, service learning and institutional partnerships with governmental, industrial and non-profit sectors.

The Office of URCO was established in February 2015, directly reporting to the Rector’s office, as an oversight office to strategize, facilitate and evaluate the University’s efforts in building relations and outreaching to the community. Our Public Relations, Digital Services and Branding divisions coordinate with the various stakeholders within KFUPM and our partners off-campus to share our successes and expand on them with your aid. We are more than glad to be at your assistance by all possible means.
